First Time’s Flame

By Craig Whitley

[Verse 1]

The air was gold it held its breath

Your eyes stole time they left me bereft

A spark so wild it burned the air

You smiled I swear the stars compared

[Prechorus]

And every word you spoke was silk

Each glance a thread that weaved my will

[Chorus]

It felt like fire soft and slow

A secret flame the world won’t know

My heart it raced my soul it sang

The first time’s flame where love began

[Verse 2]

The moon was shy it hid its face

Your laughter danced through time and space

A garden bloomed inside my chest

A reckless bloom I can’t suppress

[Prechorus]

And every step you took was art

Each breath you breathed rewrote my heart

[Chorus]

It felt like fire soft and slow

A secret flame the world won’t know

My heart it raced my soul it sang

The first time’s flame where love began
