We Shall Meet Again One Day

Hold me close, and pull me near,
Let me wipe — away that tear.
Stop your crying, I’m always here.
Standing guard, you have nothing to fear.

Why I passed, you do not know,
But I was called, my time to go.
I’m needed here, more than there,
God’s love is endless, for all to share.

Your room is lonely, your house is bare,
Feel my presence, I want to share.
Your life’s not over, it’s just beginning,
Far ahead is a happy ending.

We shall meet again one day,
In golden meadows so far away.
Bubbling brooks and butterflies,
Fluffy puppies and sweet plum pies.

Let me erase, away your strife,
I’m waiting for you in another life.
I’ll be there to show the way,
United forever on that grand day.

Tell our children I’m am near,
Always close, nothing to fear.
If they stumble, they shall not fall,
I’ll right their ships and make them tall.

You must stand up and walk again,
Tickle our grandkids and make them grin.
Teach them things I would have done,
How to fish and how to run.

We shall meet again one day,
In golden meadows so far away.
Bubbling brooks and butterflies,
Fluffy puppies and sweet plum pies.

A cup of coffee with an old sweetheart,
Might be the best way to start.
Too much time is passing you by,
Click your heels and give it a try.

I can’t bare to see you sit and stare,
Out the window and I’m not there.
Lost alone and feeling blue,
That’s not me and that’s not you.

Spreading laughter, fun and cheer,
Always smiling, never a sneer.
Queen of Happy and King of Fun,
Holding hands with your Honey Bun.

We shall meet again one day,
In golden meadows so far away.
Bubbling brooks and butterflies,
Fluffy puppies and sweet plum pies.
