One Last Time Dear

[verse 1]

I saw the love, deep in your eyes,

that told me, I was your prize.

Feelings emanating from your heart,

Let me know we would never part.

[verse 2]

The radiant brilliance of love divine,

Let me know that you were still mine.

When you spoke, I completed your thoughts,

We harbor a love that will never be bought.

[Verse 3]

The power of love, God’s strongest emotion,

Surpasses the size of any ocean.

Our feelings still rage after all these years,

Above all our laughter and all our tears.

[chorus]

On this final day, let the whole world know,

That even in heaven, I will never let go.

Don’t cry me a river, and don’t shed a tear,

Just lay beside me, one last time dear.

[verse 4]

Move in close, and hold my hand,

Citing memories we shared on this land.

Picturing the kids when they were young,

Playing and giggling in the evening sun.

[verse 5]

Let’s talk about good times, skip the bad,

Recalling the best moments we ever had.

And when I slip into my final sleep,

Praise my soul in heaven, and do not weep.

[verse 6]

Remind the kids of how much I loved them,

Viewing each one like a precious gem.

Teach them my values and what I stood for,

I’ve left each a letter in my dresser drawer.

[chorus]

On this final day, let the whole world know,

That even in heaven, I will never let go.

Don’t cry me a river, and don’t shed a tear,

Just lay beside me, one last time dear.

[outro]

Don’t cry me a river, and don’t shed a tear,

Just lay beside me, one last time dear.
