My Gen-Z Grandson

[Verse 1]

Well, my grandson came from the city, just last June,

With his fancy phone glowin’ brighter than the moon.

I’m a farmer, born in ’55, plowin’ fields to stay alive,

But this Gen Z kid’s got me scratchin’ my head, wonderin’ why!

He’s got blue hair, calls it “vibes,” wears jeans with holes galore,

Says he’s “livin’ his truth,” but what’s he searchin’ for?

I said, “Boy, grab a pitchfork, let’s pile some hay today!”

He just stared at his screen and said, “Gramps, I’m slay.”

[Chorus]

Oh, city boy summer, he’s flippin’ my world upside down,

Talkin’ ‘bout TikToks while I’m tryin’ to plow.

He’s meme-in’ and streamin’, I don’t understand,

But I love that crazy kid, my Gen Z grandson!

[Verse 2]

I caught him in the barn, dancin’ like nobody’s there,

Makin’ videos for strangers, flailin’ arms in the air.

He said, “Gramps, I’m viral, got a million views!”

I said, “Son, the only virus here’s in the chickens we lose!”

[Verse 3]

He don’t know a tractor from a Tesla, that’s the truth,

Tried to charge my John Deere with a cord from his youth.

He’s got slang I can’t follow, like “yeet” and “bet,”

I’m still tryin’ to figure what “low-key” means yet!

[Chorus]

Oh, city boy summer, he’s flippin’ my world upside down,

Talkin’ ‘bout TikToks while I’m tryin’ to plow.

He’s meme-in’ and streamin’, I don’t understand,

But I love that crazy kid, my Gen Z grandson!

[Bridge]

He taught me ‘bout emojis, I sent a cow and a heart,

But I hit the eggplant by mistake, tore my world apart.

He laughed and said, “Gramps, you’re canceled, that’s a sin!”

I said, “Boy, the only thing canceled here’s your data plan!”

[Verse 3]

By the end of the summer, we found some common ground,

He helped me fix the fence while his music shook the town.

I showed him how to milk a cow, he posted it online,

Now my old Holstein’s famous, she’s a star on Vine!

[Chorus]

Oh, city boy summer, he’s flippin’ my world upside down,

Talkin’ ‘bout TikToks while I’m tryin’ to plow.

He’s meme-in’ and streamin’, I don’t understand,

But I love that crazy kid, my Gen Z grandson!

[Outro]

So here’s to my grandson, with his wild, weird ways,

He’s back in the city, but I miss those crazy days.

Next summer he’s back, I’ll be ready, you see,

For my blue-haired, TikTok-dancin’ Gen Z family!
