Manzanillo Nights

[Verse 1]

The ship docked at sunrise golden light so clear.
Stepped into Manzanillo where the world disappeared.
She stood by the harbor with flowers in her hair.
A smile like the ocean I couldn’t help but stare.

[Prechorus]

I tried to say hello she laughed so sweet and shy.
Her words were music though I didn’t know why.

[Chorus]

I sang “You’re the dream I didn’t know I’d find.”
She sang back “Eres mi sueñoenestelugar.”
I said, “Your eyes hold the stars of the night.”
She said, “Tus ojos también sabenbrillar.”
Two hearts one rhythm under moonlit skies.

[Verse 2]

We danced through the evening in a smoky café.
The band played a bolero her hips led the way.
I fumbled through phrases my English felt small.
But her laughter translated the beauty of it all.

[Prechorus]

I kissed her under lanterns her lips tasted like wine,
Though I couldn’t say much I knew she was mine.
